Governor Declares May as Business Appreciation Month

Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business Produces Business Leaders of the Future

On Wednesday, May 1, Gov. Ralph Northam designated May as Business Appreciation Month in Virginia. Throughout the month, the governor and members of his administration will visit companies and attend events throughout the state to highlight Virginia’s robust business community.

Virginia’s diverse roster of world-class businesses play a constant role in strengthening our economy by driving growth and innovation, investing in our communities, and creating jobs and opportunity for Virginians. Business Appreciation Month is a great time to celebrate companies, large and small, that call Virginia home and the many ways that they are shaping a more prosperous Commonwealth.”

Astrid Sheil, incoming dean of the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business, applauded Governor Northam’s proclamation.

As an AACSB accredited business school, our goal is to develop and launch the next generation of business executives and entrepreneurs. Our graduates are motivated, confident and ready for today’s complex and fast-paced business environment. We are proud that the majority of our graduates stay in Virginia, contributing their intellectual, creative and financial acumen to the growth and vitality of the region.”
