Move-In Day for New Residential Students is from 9 a.m. until noon. Begin at the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre parking lot, and you will be directed where to go. Residence Life staff will greet students in their residence halls. Then, students, their family and friends head to the Brandt Student Center to complete all other tasks at the Navigator one-stop shop where free “Family Farewell Dinner” tickets and sign-up sheets for some Welcome Week activities are at the Student Life table. Siblings, friends, grandparents and anyone who came along for the ride today are invited to relax and enjoy refreshments while the new college student takes care of Move-In Day tasks. Navigator from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Brandt Student Center is a one-stop shop for new students who arrived today. The following offices will be co-located in the BSC: Academics, Auxiliary Services (I.D. cards, meal plans), Campus Mail, Department of Public Safety, Financial Aid, Hornet Central (payments, class registration), Institutional Computing (laptops, etc.), Payroll (work-study forms), Smith Library and Student Accounts. This is an opportunity for you to bring your Blackboard questions, problems, and issues. Please note, however, that these drop-in sessions are not to be used as a replacement for the training courses already offered here.

New Student Convocation begins at 4 p.m. on the track and soccer field behind the Brandt Student Center. All new students are required to participate, and they must be seated by 3:50 p.m. The ceremony includes President Tracy Fitzsimmons greeting each student as he/she walks across the stage. Family and friends of new students are encouraged to attend this special event that marks the beginning of college life for the Class of 2018. Contact email@example.com
Family Farewell Dinner begins at 5 p.m. in the Allen Dining Hall. New students will use their meal plans. The Amazing Face Race begins at 8 p.m. in the Funk/Gore, Parker, Racey and University Inn lobbies. All new students are invited to make the party circuit of all first-year residence halls, and meet new people. Twelve in particular are the subject of the “Amazing Face Race.” Students will receive sheets of paper with photos of 12 people and must go from hall to hall, find those people, get their signatures, and go claim prizes from the man sitting in a chair outside Racey Hall. The evening includes s’mores over a fire pit and music by DJSacco (alumnus Collin Sack ’14). Contact email@example.com FREE
