New Students
March 16:
New Student Application and roommate selection opens
Graduate and Transfer classification room selection opens for new students
April 7:
Tuition Deposit Deadline for any First-Year admitted student to select a room during Priority Housing First-Year Room Selection
April 16:
Priority Housing First-Year Room Selection Opens (no room selection time slots will be assigned, all residence hall options will be available)
June 8:
Deadline to sign housing contract to receive a double room selection time during General Housing First-Year Room Selection
June 9:
General Housing First-Year Room Selection time slots will be sent out
June 10:
Priority Housing First-Year Room Selection Ends
- June 11-13:
- Room Selection opens for First-Year Students
- June 14:
- Any First-Year student with signed housing contract can select a room from remaining available rooms, regardless of if they received a room selection time
- New student room selection will remain open throughout most of the summer, as long as rooms are available
- July 11:
- New Students with housing agreement signed but without a reservation will be assigned a room
- November 3rd:
- Spring-Only Application and Room Selection open on Housing Portal
- New students will be able to sign their housing application and place themselves directly into an available double room
- January 1st: Housing Cancellation Deadline
- Students may cancel their housing assignment without financial penalty until this date

- Current Graduate student single-room selection (and current seniors who submit proof of acceptance to their Graduate program)
- February 12:
- The Village decisions will be emailed to applicants
- February 10:
- Current Junior/Senior single room selection (while rooms are available)
- February 11:
- Current Sophomore single room selection (pending availability)
- February 12:
- Current First-Year single room selection (pending availability)
- February 25:
- Deadline to sign housing agreement in order to receive a priority double room selection time
- February 28:
- Double room selection times are emailed to residents
- March 3-7:
- Double room selection for students who met the housing agreement signature deadline

- All rising sophomores (i.e. current First Year/Freshmen residents) without a room assignment or approved housing exemption will be assigned a room
- June 30th:
- Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate Students Housing Cancellation Deadline
- Juniors and Seniors may cancel their housing assignment without financial penalty until this date
- First Year and Sophomores without a housing exemption are required to live in campus housing
- Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate Students Housing Cancellation Deadline
*All single room selections are first-come, first-serve, with priority given to Graduate and Upperclass students. Limited single rooms are available. Medical singles are always available for those who qualify. Please email hphillip@su.edu to learn more about applying for a medical single
*Priority for Solenberger Hall is given to current graduate students. If you are a senior applying for graduate programs at Shenandoah you will not be eligible until you are accepted into your graduate program. Once you have been accepted, you will need to email Residence Life your letter and we will provide you access to the graduate housing application at that time.
