The Office of Residence Life is excited to assist you in your transition to life at Shenandoah University!
First year students live in a residential community with other first year students and upper class students live in a residential community with other upper class students in quad or suite style housing. Each residence hall is unique in both its style and characteristics.
First and second year students are required to live on campus. Exceptions may be granted for students who live with their families in the Winchester area or within 30 miles of campus.
Living on campus is one of the most dynamic aspects of the college experience. Living on campus means quickly getting to classes and activities, meeting lots of people and being available for everything campus has to offer. Research consistently shows that students who live on campus have better graduation rates, higher GPAs, and report a greater satisfaction with their collegiate experience.
There are four first-year residence halls on campus, each of which are unique in design and character.
Check out each building to see what is offered!
If you are interested in applying for housing exemption, please fill out the Residency Exemption Form located on your StarRez Portal.
