Amanda Tintaya is the marketing and communications project manager as well as an adjunct faculty member in the department of psychology. Amanda coordinates with the OMC team to manage a wide range of marketing projects for the schools and departments at Shenandoah. Amanda started at Shenandoah in 2018 in student development roles before moving into her current role in April 2022. She holds a M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Human Resource Management as well as a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish.
Brad Fauber, Media Relations Coordinator

Brad Fauber is Shenandoah University’s point of contact for local, state and national media, handles media inquiries and interview requests, writes press releases and blogs for the university’s website, and helps coordinate Shenandoah’s internal and external communication efforts. Brad has a background in print journalism and, prior to joining SU at the end of 2021, spent nearly 10 years as a reporter in the Shenandoah Valley, where he primarily covered high school and college sports and local government. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Virginia Tech.
Colby Smith, Director of Creative Services
As Creative Director and Senior Graphic Designer at Shenandoah University, Colby Smith specializes in visual problem solving and typography. She conceptualizes and creates designs that convey Shenandoah’s brand strategy throughout print and electronic media. Additionally, she is responsible for helping manage the use of the university’s brand materials (i.e., logos and photos) and is the lead designer for the university’s alumni magazine. In 2009, she received her B.F.A. in graphic design from James Madison University. Colby’s interests outside of work include puppies, witty banter and chocolate chip cookies.
Cathy Wetzel, Production Management Administrator
With a background in tracking, troubleshooting, and technical support, Cathy Wetzel supports the strategic and tactical functions of the Office of Marketing & Communications. Her organizational skills, love for analyzing details and developing processes makes her integral in problem solving and solution gathering. When she’s not researching, following projects on Wrike or tracking media placements, she can be found at the fitness center, working on do-it-yourself home projects with her husband or planning vacations to spend time with her adult son.
Stephanie Mangino, Marketing Writer
Stephanie Mangino is a seasoned writer and editor with a background in radio, print and online journalism. She uses her multimedia experience to craft copy for a wide variety of university needs, including Shenandoah magazine’s print and online editions, booklets, brochures, flyers, blogs, and radio, online and print advertising. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Mary Washington College (now the University of Mary Washington).
Marsha Genthner, Director of Web Services & New Media
Marsha Genthner leads OMC’s four-member web team which designs, creates, and supports the university’s website and other digital products. She earned an associate’s degree and certification in internet technologies from Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and a Bachelor of Science with a double major in telecommunications and political science from Radford University. Outside of work, Marsha enjoys drumming, hiking with her dog Harley, and doing art projects.
Josh Gomke, Senior Web Developer
Josh Gomke is the senior web developer that manages the back end of the website, along with the junior web developer.
Gilbert Tsurwa, Junior Web Developer
Gilbert Tsurwa collaborates with the Senior Web Developer in projects that seek to maintain and improve the university’s websites and its essential underlying components. He specializes in extensive research, workflow organization, and more importantly, front-end development. He is also responsible for the management of the music theater site, ssmtva.org.
Amanda Grantham, Associate Director of Web Content
Amanda Grantham joined the Office of Marketing and Communications after 9 years in Career & Professional Development at Shenandoah University. She maintains the external web presence and loves a good spreadsheet. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in College Student Development and Communication both from Shepherd University.
Maddy McClellan, Digital Marketing Manager
Maddy McClellan oversees and creates content for the main Shenandoah University social media accounts and advertisements along with live event coverage. She holds a degree in Communication and New Media with a concentration in strategic communication and a minor in journalism from Shepherd University. Maddy brings enthusiasm, new ideas, and positivity to the OMC team.
Walker Speer, Student Communications & Marketing Coordinator
Walker Speer manages and creates content for the Shenandoah University Student Life social media accounts as well as live event coverage. Walker graduated from Shenandoah University in May of 2022 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sport Management.
Josh McLean, Photo and Video Specialist
Josh McLean is one of two Photo/Video Specialists in the Office of Marketing and Communications. Shortly after graduating from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Video Studies, he moved to the Winchester area to join Shenandoah University’s marketing team. He captures both photo and video content at university events and edits together videos for university marketing initiatives. If you see him around campus, be sure to smile, since he’s probably going to ask to take your photo. Outside of marketing, Joshua produces independent film projects.
Trey Mathews, Photo and Video Specialist
Trey Mathews is the second Photo/Video Specialist in the Office of Marketing and Communications. Trey graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a Digital Media degree. He has been living in the Shenandoah Valley since 2009. Some of his hobbies outside of camera work and marketing include building cars, running his dogs named Copper & Miriam, and binging Netflix/Hulu shows.
